FAQ

The questions we get asked most, answered straight.

How much does it cost to import a car from Japan?

Our service fee is ¥120,000 for vehicles under ¥5,000,000, charged as a deposit once we've confirmed your desired car is achievable within your budget. Cars listed in our showroom are priced FOB, including purchase, deregistration, fumigation and delivery to a Japanese port. Shipping, destination taxes and compliance costs are additional, but we provide an estimate for every vehicle.

What vehicles can I import into Australia?

Any right-hand drive vehicle over 25 years old can be imported into Australia. Left-hand drive vehicles over 25 years old are also possible, though some states only grant a club permit until the vehicle reaches 30 years old. Vehicles under 25 years old must be listed on the Federal Government's Specialist and Enthusiast Vehicle Scheme (SEVS), which currently covers over 250 models — check the eligibility list.

Who actually inspects the cars?

We do, in person. Unlike many brokers who rely on third-party inspectors, our team is based in Japan and attends USS auctions weekly in Tokyo, Yokohama and Nagoya, physically inspecting, photographing and documenting every vehicle's condition before you bid.

How does the Japanese auction grading system work?

Auction houses grade vehicles from S, meaning near-new, down to R or RA for accident-repaired cars, based on mileage and condition. Grades aren't always perfectly accurate, which is why we inspect every vehicle ourselves rather than relying on the auction sheet alone.

Do I need to be a licensed dealer?

No — individuals can commission a one-off import directly. Dealer consignment (recurring, portal-based) is reserved for approved trade accounts with a current importer's licence and clean RVSA compliance record.

Do you ship outside Australia?

Yes — alongside Australia, we regularly export to the USA and UK, and can quote for other destinations on request.
